This site is dedicated to a wonderful young man, whose warm smile and beautiful blue eyes (always twinkling with mischief), his contagious laughter, intelligence and zest for life were like a magnet for most people. Tommy always made you want to succeed, inspiring you to never give up. He taught us that you have to learn from your mistakes and always look forward to the future. Like most 29 year olds, he had many plans for his life ahead.
On April 17, 2004, an absolutely beautiful day and a motorcyle rider's dream, Tommy was on his way to work at Conrail, riding his bike, and lost his life in a tragic car accident. Two more minutes and he would have been at work. This has been an absolutely senseless tragedy to not only his family, but to his many friends as well. We do not have to explain the pain and anquish we have experienced. Anyone who has lost someone they love understands.
Those who knew him have told us that he was an inspiration to them on their worst days. The memories of his determination, ambition, ideals and his character, his smile and the laughter we shared are all that we have left. We have established the Tommy Vitale Memorial Foundation for scholarships and other charitable works to continue Tommy's legacy. Tommy was a beloved son, cherished brother, loving stepfather and a true friend to everyone who knew him.
Tommy, you are forever in our hearts and souls, and not a day goes by that we don't think of you and miss you.
Until we meet again . . .
Always our love,
Dad, Jill, Anthony, Tammy & Scott
