REMEMBERING TOMMY

To the living, I am gone from this earth

To the sorrowful, I will never return

To the angry, I was cheated, a young life taken too soon

But to the happy, I am at peace and in a place far better than this earth

And to the faithful, I have never left them

I cannot speak, but I can listen

I cannot be seen, but I can still be heard,

in the voices of my family and friends who loved me

 And by my actions here on this earth, that, while they may have been unintentional,

have left an everlasting impact

So as you stand upon the shore, gazing at the beautiful sea, basking in the warm sun,

 smile and remember me

As you see and hear the sounds and beauty of the mighty forest,

and find peace in them, remember me

Remember me in your hearts, in your thoughts, in your laughter

Remember the times we loved, the times we cried,

the times we fought and the times we laughed

For if you always think of me in these ways,

I will know that I accomplished on this earth what God intended me to

And I will never really have gone
